Cheap Trucks Can Be Found At New York Truck Auctions

One of the most common questions people ask about auctions in New York is whether or not it is possible to find cheap trucks.  The New York automobile ecosystem is unique which means it merits a closer look to determine whether or not cheap trucks can be found at New York truck auctions on a regular basis.

There Are Less Trucks in New York

A key variable to keep in mind is that there are fewer trucks in New York then most other areas of the country.  As a result, there are fewer trucks available on the secondary market and at auctions.  When New York truck auctions do take place, the auction listing tends to be slightly smaller and the potential for more competition is a reality.  Both of these facts make it less likely to find cheap trucks at a New York auto auction.

Don’t Give up Hope

The key to successfully bringing home a cheap truck at a New York truck auction is staying a step ahead of your competition.  The only way to do this is to find out about upcoming auctions sooner, do more comprehensive research, and accurately identify the best deals.  This may sound a little overwhelming but fortunately there is a tool that makes this entire process simple.  Online auto auction websites provide you with all of the resources you need to immediately find out about newly listed auctions.  They also provide numerous research and organizational tools to ensure you always have the best and most up-to-date information available.

A Few Examples of What You Can Achieve

2005 Toyota Tacoma

At a recent New York truck auction, a savvy bidder brought home a 2005 Toyota Tacoma for less than $5000.  This blue club cab pickup had a 4.0 liters six cylinder engine and 109,000 miles on it.  The estimated retail value was $14,700.  There was no noticeable damage outside of regular wear and tear.  The only potential drawback was the truck is rear wheel drive.

2002 Ford F150

The Ford F150 has proven itself time and again to be a durable, powerful vehicle.  At a recent auction in New York, a bidder brought home a 2012 Ford F150 four less than $2000.  It did have high mileage, 187,085 miles, but the estimated retail value was still nearly $8000.  This red four-door extended cab truck featured a 4.6 liter V8 engine.

A Growing Number of Donation Trucks

For some unexplained reason, the past several months has seen a surge in trucks being donated to local auctions.  At a recent donation auction, there was a 2000 Nissan Frontier and eight 2001 Mazda B3000.  Both sold for around $1500.  They both had between 150,000 and 180,000 miles although there was no noticeable damage aside from minor dents and scratches from normal wear and tear.  It is unclear if this trend will continue, but it does put donation auctions in the discussion of places to find quality used trucks at New York auctions.
